Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda)

Arakurayama Sengen Park is renowned as a breathtaking scenic spot that offers panoramic views of the Chureito Pagoda, the World Heritage Site Mount Fuji, and the beautiful landscapes of Fujiyoshida City. Covering an area of approximately 4.3 hectares, the park is home to around 650 cherry trees (Somei Yoshino), attracting numerous tourists during the cherry blossom season. The observation deck, which was developed in February 2022, provides a safe environment for photography, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the stunning vistas of Mount Fuji and the cherry blossoms. We warmly invite you to visit and experience this magnificent scenery for yourself.

Directions to Arakurayama Sengen Park

▶︎By Train or Bus

  • Approximately 20 to 30 minutes on foot from Shimoyoshida Station on the Fujikyu Railway Line.
  • Buses do not directly service Arakurayama Sengen Park, instead, they operate from the rotary in front of Shimoyoshida Station.

  • About 10 minutes from the Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway Fujiyoshida Line.

  • About 10 minutes from the Fujiyoshida Nishikatsu Smart IC on the Chuo Expressway Fujiyoshida Line.

  • About 10 minutes from the Fujiyoshida IC on the Higashi Fuji Five Lakes Road.

Free parking for approximately 100 cars available. Note: The parking lot is unavailable during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

▶︎If Arriving by Fujiyoshida City Circular Bus (Community Bus)

  • ake the Town Sneaker operated by Fujikyu Bus and get off at the Chuo Loop “Shimoyoshida Station” stop, then walk for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can get off at the Kumaana / Arakura Loop “Noraiji Entrance” stop and walk for about 20 minutes to reach the Chureito Pagoda.

Fujimichi (Honcho Street)

Known as “Honcho Street,” this area offers a stunning view of Mount Fuji directly ahead. Since the mountain’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has become a popular photo spot, receiving numerous posts on social media and attracting attention both domestically and internationally. Visitors can enjoy a picturesque landscape featuring charming signs, lanterns, and the eaves of local shops. It’s just a 5-minute walk from our establishment.

Retro Shopping Street

In the retro shopping street of Fujiyoshida, you can savor local flavors in shops that exude old-fashioned charm. The area offers a variety of dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, as well as a selection of homemade sweets, all providing heartwarming deliciousness. The atmosphere of the shopping street is filled with nostalgia, reminiscent of the Showa era. Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine

Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine is located on the slopes of Arakurayama and was established in 705, making it a historically significant shrine. It is also a notable site where festivals were held by imperial envoys during the great eruptions of Mount Fuji. Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is part of the World Heritage Site of Mount Fuji and is a historically significant shrine representative of Fujiyoshida. The approach to the shrine is surrounded by cedar trees, creating a spiritually revered atmosphere, and it is also known as an entrance for climbing Mount Fuji. As one of the central sites of Mount Fuji worship, visiting the shrine and collecting stamps (goshuin) is an essential experience for those planning to climb the mountain.
